Prof. Mark Haacke from Detroit, USA, and Prof. Michael Stehling, Director of the CCSVI Center in Frankfurt, met in Frankfurt to discuss latest news concerning CCSVI.

Venous malformations or CCSVI, assumed to be associated with multiple sclerosis (MS), may also play a role in the development of Parkinson’s disease and Migraine. MRI protocols developed by Prof. Haacke can show the vascular changes and the iron deposits which may be caused by the impeded vascular drainage.

Fatigue, a problem commonly experienced by MS patients, could be associated with decreased oxygen levels in the brain. A novel technique developed by Prof. Haacke can be used to measure the oxygen level in the brain accurately and non-invasively, promising to provide additional information about the pathophysiology of MS.

The CCSVI Center in Frankfurt is using these new techniques in collaboration with Prof. Haacke to investigate these findings further.
